Short project description: The main objectives:

To create conditions for residents of rural areas, businesses and public authorities to use information technologies and information sources;
To ensure the residents of rural areas to acquire information technology and network users knowledge, expertise and skills and apply them to professional activities, access to information, education and training;
To reach the openness of the state institutions in rural areas by reducing administrative costs.

During the implementation of the project 3 357 km of fibre optic cable throughout the territory of the Republic of Lithuania (408 km more than planned) were installed, 509 RAIN network units (44 units more than planned) were built and RAIN nodes in 51 district centre were combined
